Review: Honeywell 17000-S QuietCare Air Purifier
When allergy season arrives, so do the bothersome physical symptoms. There’s the sneezing, the itchy eyes, the leaking nose, and sometimes that can rob you of the sleep you need. Instead of taking tons of medication that can make you feel sleepy all day long, consider an investment in the Honeywell 17000-S QuietCare Air Purifier today.
I’ve been an allergy sufferer my entire life. My family even had to move when I was young because my allergies were so bad. The inflammation from the allergy would cause ear infections and other issues that sometimes even took me to the emergency room. Unlike other kids, I didn’t outgrow those allergies. If I walk outside, the pollens are going to make me feel miserable.
Those pollens also come back inside with me, making me miserable inside the house as well. The Honeywell 17000-S QuietCare is the first air purifier that could almost immediately make me feel better.
How the Honeywell 17000-S QuietCare Air Purifier Works
For starters, this air purifier comes equipped with a true HEPA filter. There aren’t any marketing terms here to make you think that you’re getting anything but the HEPA filtration that you need. It captures 99.97% of the common allergens that can make you feel miserable. You’ve got 3 speed settings for the fan as well, so if you’ve just come in from an adventure outside, you can set the air purifier to high and limit your bothersome symptoms.
Over time, the HEPA filter is going to start getting filled up with that nasty pollen and the other particulate contaminants that may be affecting your indoor air quality. The Honeywell 17000-S QuietCare has been designed to let you vacuum out the filter so you can extend its life. You can literally leave this air purifier running for 6 months straight and only need to vacuum out the filter once.
But that also brings up my one beef with this model: the carbon pre-filter life is really low. It might need to be changed every month to keep odor levels down. You can tell when it’s time to change the filter thanks to the blinking indicator light. When it starts blinking three times, you know it’s about time to give the air purifier some service.
Stuff You Might or Might Not Like About the Honeywell 17000-S QuietCare
Is the Honeywell 17000-S Air Purifier quiet? Yes. It’s not silent though. You’ll have some background noise with it running. I listen to music through some earbuds to cancel it out since I don’t like bland white noise. If you do like white noise, you’ll love this air purifier.
This air purifier is very portable. You can take it from room to room if you wish or leave it full-time in your bedroom. You’ll notice a difference almost immediately. It’s like taking a deep breath in the early morning just as the sun is coming up.
The room size for this air purifier is a little limited. It’s rated for rooms under 200 square feet and I’d say that’s accurate. You’ll notice a difference in larger rooms as well, but it’s not the pronounced difference you’d receive in a smaller room.
Very few products get tested that I’d pay to keep in my home full-time. This is one of the exceptions to that rule. My allergies are better now, thanks to the Honeywell 17000-S QuietCare Air Purifier, than I can remember in a long, long time. If you’ve been experiencing the same kind of issue, then this is going to be the best air purifier for your home today.
